RELAY: The Movable Garden

An installation / performance as part of Sense: Art in Odd Places

October 15, 2017
At-large, along 14th Street in NYC

RELAY is a performance in motion that serves as a demonstration as well as a public protest. It combines performance, choreography and an outdoor movable garden carried up and down 14th street (from Avenue C all the way over to 8th Avenue) by 20 performers wearing mirrored costumes and various sources of light. Each plant in the garden has a sign explaining its country of origin. The one-hour event proposes a transpersonal (something that transcends the personal) experience that could trigger both individual and collective awareness, and be a provocative action that would stimulate reflection about origins and extinctions.
